We only work with the best materials available. From our metals to diamonds and gemstones, we make it our mission to only use ethically sourced materials. Our pieces are designed for everyday wear, forever. But just like anything our pieces still need a little love and TLC so here are a few tips and trick to maintain your pieces looking like new.
14k gold
In its purest form (24k) gold is much too soft to wear as jewelry so other metals are used to enhance its durability. These metals called alloys give the jewelry the perfect balance of color and durability. These alloys can even determine the color of the gold such as white or rose. 14k is the perfect mix of alloy and gold for fine jewelry and everyday wear.
care
To maintain its shine and beauty, lightly scrub with a toothbrush and warm water. Make sure to dry it off with either a soft cloth or the polishing cloth that came with your purchase.
sterling silver
.925 Sterling Silver consist of 92.5% fine silver and 7.5% alloy (usually copper). Our silver contains no nickel and requires no rhodium plating (making it safe for people allergic to nickel).
care
Due to Silver being H2O sensitive, avoid wearing while being around water this can cause your silver to oxidize quicker. To clean, use a bit of baking soda and scrub your piece lightly to get rid of any tarnishing and make your piece look like new again. Make sure to put your piece back into its Forever AU pouch to keep the oxygen at bay.
vermeil
Vermeil, pronounced (ver-may) is not to be confused with normal gold plating. Vermeil is a much thicker layer of gold which gives itās a long-lasting color. We use a minimum of 2.5 microns of 14k gold over .925 sterling silver. Here at Forever AU we take it a step further to ensure maximum longevity and we bake our Vermeil in a protective coat called Electro-plate.
care
Try to avoid any chemicals (lotions, perfume, hairspray etc.) and water when wearing any of your vermeil pieces (sheās a tad bit sensitive). To clean your piece, buff gently with a micro-fiber cloth and place back into your pouch.
Diamonds and Gemstones
Diamonds
Diamonds are one of the hardest natural substances found on earth. We ensure to use high quality (SI 1-2 clarity G-H color) ethically sourced diamonds in every piece we make.
care
Even the hardest substances have their weakness. These beautiful stones can suffer chips and fractures from sharp blows. To clean, use warm soapy liquid and a soft toothbrush to scrub (gently) out any dirt. Make sure to remove all residue to allow your diamonds to sparkle.
Gemstones
All of our gemstones are genuine mineral stones. We use an array of precious to semi-precious stone, from Emeralds to Moonstones. We use all different types of cuts, cabochon (smooth domes), faceted (similar cut to diamonds), and beads.
care
Gemstones require a little love. Make sure to avoid any harsh chemicals or excessive temperatures when cleaning your stones. Use slightly warm water and a soft toothbrush to get your stones shining again
pearls
Lustrous. Organic. Classic. We use cultured pearls from oysters to freshwater mussels that we carefully select for each piece. Pearls are sensitive in nature so be sure to show them a little extra love when wearing and cleaning them.
care
Avoid direct contact with any chemicals. These little beauties are best put on right before you go out and the first things removed when you get home. To clean, use a micro-fiber cloth to wipe down the pearl and tuck them safely away in your Forever AU pouch.
